Burrel, Zeigler recognized with RRAC baseball weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Terry Burrel III of the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) stood out as the RRAC Baseball Player of the Week for Feb. 3-9, while Draven Zeigler of LSU Shreveport (La.) earned recognition as the RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the third set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC baseball season.

Burrel went 7-for-12 at the plate in a 3-1 week for the Jaguars. The junior outfielder from Houston had a career day while going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and two triples in an 18-4 victory over Texas Wesleyan University. Burrel finished the week with three RBIs, four extra-base hits and six runs scored. He is second in the RRAC with six stolen bases, and he is sixth in the conference with a .464 batting average. UHV holds a 9-2 record on the season.

Zeigler scattered three hits over seven scoreless innings as the Pilots defeated Dakota State University (S.D.), 5-0, at the Cajun Collision tournament in Sterlington, La. The junior right-hander from Ash Grove, Mo., struck out 13 batters and walked none to earn the win. Zeigler is 3-0 on the season with a 1.69 earned run average. LSUS won four games at the tournament and remains unbeaten at 11-0.
