UHV's Carter, LSUA's Primrose garner RRAC softball weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Alyssa Carter of the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) was recognized as the RRAC Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 17-23, while Haley Primrose of LSU Alexandria (La.) garnered the RRAC Pitcher of the Week award for the same dates. This is the fourth set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC softball season.

Carter went 11-for-14 at the plate with nine RBI in a 4-1 week for the Jaguars. The sophomore outfielder from Sugar Land, Texas, was 4-for-4 with five RBI in a 14-5 win over Concordia University-Texas, and she had three hits and two RBI in an 8-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). Carter scored two runs and connected on three doubles for the week. She is batting .667 for the season. UHV is now 2-0 in conference play and 9-7 overall.

Primrose scattered seven hits over 11 innings of work while earning two wins for the Generals last week. The senior right-hander from Jasper, Texas, took a no-hitter into the fourth inning against Jarvis Christian University (Texas) and closed out a complete game with only two hits allowed. Primrose also scattered five hits over five innings in a 10-2 win over Louisiana Christian University. For the week, she struck out 20 hitters and walked two in three appearances. Primrose is 6-1 on the season with a conference-leading 1.15 ERA. LSUA moved to 4-0 in the RRAC and 11-1 on the season.
