Waxley, Rohde ride to RRAC baseball player and pitcher of the week awards

WACO, Texas – Harrison Waxley of Louisiana Christian University earned recognition as the RRAC Baseball Player of the Week for March 3-9, while Isaac Rohde of LSU Shreveport (La.) garnered the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the seventh set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC baseball season.

Waxley achieved a career-best five hits in a walk-off third game to sweep University of the Southwest (N.M.) in their conference series. The sophomore infielder from Bossier City, La., racked up eight hits, six RBIs and three doubles for the week in addition to collecting a team-best eight assists in the field. Waxley, the 2024 RRAC Freshman of the Year, hit .500 with 11 total bases in the series. He raised his average to .305 and now has 12 RBIs this season. LCU improved to 3-6 in conference play and 11-14 overall.

Rohde allowed only two hits while striking out 10 batters in a 10-1 victory over Xavier University (La.). The senior lefty from Rice Lake, Wis., carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and gave up one run with no walks. Rohde is 5-0 with a 2.09 ERA, which is fifth best in the conference. He is second in the RRAC with 58 strikeouts. LSUS is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA at 22-0 with a 9-0 conference mark.
