LSUA's Dunbar, Primrose recognized with RRAC weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Kaetlyn Dunbar of LSU Alexandria (La.) was recognized as the RRAC Softball Player of the Week for March 3-9, while LSUA's Haley Primrose was named RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the sixth set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC softball season.

Dunbar drove in five runs as the Generals went 3-1 at the Gulf Shores Invitational. The junior outfielder from Spring, Texas, was 9-for-13 at the plate with four stolen bases as LSUA faced NAIA teams from other parts of the country. In an 8-0 win over Campbellsville University (Ky.), Dunbar was 4-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, and she delivered a triple and two RBIs in a 13-4 win over the College of St. Mary (Neb.). She is third in the conference with a .509 batting average. The 15^th-ranked Generals are 6-0 against RRAC competition and 16-2 on the season.

Primrose was 2-1 in three appearances for the Generals last week. The senior right-hander from Jasper, Texas, tossed a four-hitter to earn the win over Campbellsville, and she held University of Mobile (Ala.) to no earned runs on a pair of hits in that stint. Primrose finished the week with 12 strikeouts. She leads the RRAC with 10 wins, and she is second in ERA (2.10) and strikeouts (72).
