HT's Corzine, OLLU's Martinez garner RRAC baseball weekly awards
WACO, Texas – Jaden Corzine of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) earned the RRAC Baseball Player of the Week award for April 14-20, while Domenic Martinez of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) claimed the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the 13th set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC baseball season.
Corzine played a key role as the Rams clinched a spot in the RRAC Baseball Championship by taking 2-of-3 games from LSU Alexandria. The freshman outfielder from Austin, Texas, went 11-for-14 at the plate in the series including 3-for-4 in the first game with two RBIs as HT won, 9-5. Corzine tacked on four hits in each of the last two games and finished with a double, triple and six RBIs for the week. He is hitting .434 this season. The Rams moved to 13-17 in conference play and 18-29 overall.
Martinez picked up a win over 14th-ranked University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) as the Saints won, 8-1. The graduate lefty from Houston allowed just one hit and one earned run over six innings of work. Martinez finished with eight strikeouts and four walks in the effort. OLLU improved to 16-10 against RRAC competition and 25-21 on the season.
