LCU's Houck, UHV's Sayas selected for final RRAC softball weekly awards of 2025

WACO, Texas – Bella Houck of Louisiana Christian University earned the RRAC Softball Player of the Week award for April 21-27, while Audrie Sayas of the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) was named the RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the 13^th and final set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC softball season.

Houck accounted for two doubles and four RBIs as the Wildcats took both games of a doubleheader against Jarvis Christian University (Texas). The senior first baseman from Leesville, La., extended her career best hitting (12) and on-base streaks (16) while tying a career high with three RBIs in the second game against the Bulldogs. Houck went 4-for-6 with a walk in the two games, and she is hitting .386 for the season. LCU wrapped up the regular season at 16-14 in the RRAC standings and 26-23 overall. The Wildcats will be the No. 6 seed in the RRAC tournament later this week.

Sayas earned her team-leading 11^th win of the year in a 6-1 victory over Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). The junior righthander from Harlingen, Texas, limited the Rams to two hits and no runs over five innings in the circle. Sayas struck out five and walked one. Sayas is 10^th in the RRAC with a 3.17 earned run average. The Jaguars head into the RRAC tournament as the No. 4 seed, carrying a 19-9 conference mark and a 27-19 record on the season.
