Xavier trio collects RRAC volleyball player of the week accolades
WACO, Texas – Xavier made it a clean sweep on volleyball awards as Kamea Uitenham was named RRAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Charity Metcalf was selected as the RRAC Setter of the Week, and Taylor Parker received the RRAC Defender of the Week honor for Sept. 8-14.
RRAC Attacker of the Week – Kamea Uitenham, Xavier
Uitenham hit .364 with 10 kills, two aces and seven digs in a 3-0 sweep of city rival Dillard University (La.) on Wednesday. The sophomore outside hitter from Hutto, Texas, averaged 3.33 kills per set and committed only two hitting errors. Xavier is now 10-3 on the season.
RRAC Setter of the Week – Charity Metcalf, Xavier
Metcalf claimed her second straight Setter of the Week award and third of the season. The senior setter from Greenville, S.C., averaged 6.7 assists per set against Dillard in a 6-2 offense which is highly rated by NAIA standards. Metcalf led the team to a .287 hitting percentage.
RRAC Defender of the Week – Taylor Parker, Xavier
After winning the Attacker of the Week award last week, Parker is recognized for her defensive play this week. The junior middle blocker from Charlotte, N.C., has six blocks (four unassisted and two assisted) in the victory over Dillard. Parker, a 2024 NAIA All-American, reached five blocks in a match for the 30th time in her career and for the 12th time in a three-set match.
