WACO, Texas (Dec. 8, 2025) – The RRAC's sixth Women's Hoops Player of the Week awards presented by Athletic Solutions include Our Lady of the Lake's (Texas) Shayla Dede for Offensive Player of the Week, and North Texas-Dallas' De'Asia Johnson for Defensive Player of the Week for the dates of Dec. 1-7.

RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Shayla Dede – Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)
Junior guard Shayla Dede scored 16 points against Southwest (N.M.), adding 18 rebounds and four assists. In 34 minutes played as a starter, Dede made 5-of-12 from the field, including 1-of-3 from three-point range, and 5-of-5 free throws. She led the team to its highest scoring win against the Mustangs, 73-61.

Dede scored a career-high 24 points against UNTD, but the Saints suffered a 73-63 loss. She made 5-of-6 from the field, including 3-of-3 threes and 11-of-13 free throws. Dede also added four rebounds, one assist, and four steals. Dede leads the Saints with 116 points for 14.5 points per game, in free throws with 30-of-40 made, in assists with 15, and in steals with 18.

The Saints are 2-6 overall and 1-2 in conference.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – De'Asia Johnson – North Texas-Dallas
Junior forward De'Asia Johnson recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds against OLLU, leading UNTD to a 73-63 victory. She added one assist, five steals, and two blocks. Johnson tallied nine points and 11 rebounds in her team's 71-59 loss to Texas A&M-San Antonio. She added three assists and two steals in that game.

Johnson is second in the conference in total rebounds with 41 for 8.2 rebounds per game. In addition, she is fourth with 16 steals and sixth with 11 assists.

The Trailblazers are undefeated with an overall record of 3-2 and 2-1 in conference.

RRAC Notebook:

• LSUA's Princis Goff tied for the team lead in points in the team's 65-55 loss to NAU. She added four rebounds and tallied only one turnover.
• Shandrea Yeldell from UNTD was instrumental in her team's 73-63 victory over OLLU. The guard scored a career-high 30 points, shooting 12-of-20 from the field, including 5-of-9 from three-point territory. Combined with totals from her team's 71-59 loss to TAMUSA, she tallied 11 steals, 12 assists, and 13 rebounds.
• NAU junior guard Aliyah Solis played a total of 26 minutes in her team's victories over LSUA, 65-55, and Louisiana Christian, 61-53. She scored 10 points, adding five assists, five rebounds, and four steals against LSUA. Versus LCU, she tallied 19 points, adding three rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.
• Senior guard from TAMUT Breyionce George scored 10 points and secured eight boards in the Eagles' 53-40 win over Jarvis Christian (Texas).
• LSUS graduate student Selma Markisic led the way for her team last week as she racked up six and seven steals, and logged 16 and 20 points against Texas College and JCU.
• LSUA junior center Justice Young grabbed nine rebounds in her team's 65-55 loss to NAU. She added three blocks and one steal.
• Maurdaisha Powell, a sophomore guard from NAU, led her team to a 65-55 win over LSUA and a 61-53 victory over LCU. She recorded 11 rebounds, seven assists, five steals, and two blocks.
• TAMUT junior guard Maiya Petit added seven rebounds, one assist, and two steals in her team's 53-40 victory over JCU.
• OLLU senior guard Alexandra Westerdijk Martin logged her third straight double-double and fourth overall in her team's 73-61 win over USW and 73-63 loss to UNTD. She tallied a total of 28 points, 28 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block.
