LSUS' Markisic and UNTD's Yeldell win RRAC Women's Hoops Players of the Week awards
WACO, Texas (Jan. 12, 2026) – The winners of the 2025-26 RRAC Women's Hoops Players of the Week awards for the dates of Jan. 5-11 are (RV) LSU Shreveport's Selma Markisic for Offensive Player of the Week and North Texas-Dallas' Shandrea Yeldell for Defensive Player of the Week. This is the 10th set of awards.
RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Selma Markisic – LSU Shreveport
Graduate student Selma Markisic led the way for LSUS offensively as the Pilots swept the week and remained perfect. Over the week, she averaged 20 ppg., including 27 against North American (Texas) in the Pilots' 79-64 win and 13 against Xavier (La.) in the 65-55 victory. Markisic added 11 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. She is on top in the conference with 289 points for 18.5 ppg., with 50 three-pointers and 96 field goals.
Markisic has won the O-POW three times.
LSUS, which received two votes in the NAIA coaches' poll, is now 10-0 in RRAC play and 14-2 overall.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – Shandrea Yeldell – North Texas-Dallas
Senior guard Shandrea Yeldell highlighted a tenacious Trailblazers' defense that held Texas College and Jarvis Christian (Texas) to less than 50 points in a pair of double-digit victories last week. Yeldell broke the single-game record for steals with 11 and led the team to 28, which matched a program record. Yeldell added three steals against JCU to give her 14 on the week. Yeldell leads the conference with 54 assists and is second with 50 steals.
UNTD is 6-4 in the RRAC and 7-5 overall.

- NAU junior guard Aliyah Solis scored 11 points in her team's losses to TAMUT 56-52 and to LSUS 79-64. She added seven assists and six steals.
- UNTD junior forward De'Asia Johnson continues to lead the Trailblazers' offense, averaging 14.5 points in a pair of conference wins over TXC and JCU. Johnson has boasted double figures in eight straight games and is missing achieving the feat in all 12 games by a point. She has led the team in points in the past four games.
- OLLU junior guard Shayla Dede scored 31 points in her team's loss to LSUA 63-55 and victory over Louisiana Christian 59-49. She added seven assists and five steals.
- LSUA freshman guard Sydney Person scored a career-high 30 points in her team's 85-76 loss to Texas A&M-San Antonio.
- TAMUT senior guard Chi'onne Daily scored 28 points and led the Eagles in both of their conference victories last week. Dailey shot an impressive 45% from the field on the week, and a 42.9% from beyond the arc. Dailey also had six assists, three boards, four steals, and one block.
- XULA's Tiarra Tillison scored 23 points in her team's 65-55 loss to LSUS and 14 in her team's 55-51 loss to TAMUT.
- TXC senior shooting guard Rakia Lee tallied 12 rebounds, six assists, and eight steals in her team's 64-46 loss to UNTD and 86-80 victory over Southwest (N.M.).
- NAU senior forward Keasia Robinson recorded 13 rebounds, two assists, and five blocks in her team's 56-52 loss to TAMUT and 79-64 loss to LSUS.
- OLLU senior guard Alexandra Westerdijk Martin grabbed 22 rebounds, adding 20 points in her team's 63-55 loss to LSUA and 59-49 victory over LCU.
- LSUS junior Toni Coleman was the defensive heart for her team last week. She averaged almost 10 points while collecting 12 assists, eight steals, and seven rebounds.
- LSUA junior center Justice Young added 17 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and four blocks in her team's 63-55 victory over OLLU and her team's 85-76 loss to TAMUSA.
- TAMUT sophomore forward Nailah Zetrenne averaged seven rebounds per game last week, as well as seven and a half points per game. She also snagged two steals in the Eagles' two conference wins last week (56-52/NAU, 55-51-XULA).
