LSUA's Fontenot and TAMUSA's Corral receive RRAC Softball Players of the Week honors
WACO, Texas (Feb. 2, 2026) – The first RRAC Softball Players of the Week awards go to (13) LSU Alexandria's Haley Fontenot for offense and Texas A&M University-San Antonio's Krisilyn Corral for defense for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1.
RRAC Softball Player of the Week – Haley Fontenot – (13) LSU Alexandria
Senior infielder Haley Fontenot set the (13) LSUA career record for stolen bases (68) with her second stolen base against Nelson (Texas). She went 3-for-3, adding two runs and two RBIs as the Generals won 10-5. Fontenot also led her team to an 11-3 win over Central Baptist (Ark.) as she hit 1-for-3, adding a run and a stolen base. In the game against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), Fontenot guided her team to a 14-2 win, while hitting 1-for-1, adding two runs, an RBI, and two stolen bases. She hit .714 on the weekend and posted an OPS of 2.514. On defense, she tallied four putouts and four assists.
Fontenot is in her third season with the Generals. The Morgan City, La., native is batting .714 this season and has stolen 5-of-5 bases.
(13) LSUA is 3-0 overall. The Generals finished second last season and fell to (12) Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) in the postseason tournament. They posted a 47-9 overall record and a 26-2 conference record. They qualified for the NAIA tournament, won one, and lost two in the opening round. The Generals have been picked 13th in the NAIA Preseason Poll.

RRAC Pitcher of the Week – Krisilyn Corral – Texas A&M-San Antonio
Sophomore pitcher Krisilyn Corral was dominant as a starter and reliever this weekend, carrying the Jaguars to a 2-0 start. She pitched five innings, allowing four hits, while striking out seven in her team's 8-0 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State. She pitched in relief for two innings, earning the 4-3 win, while striking out four, allowing no hits or runs.
Corral is playing in her first season with TAMUSA. She is a native of El Paso, Texas.
TAMUSA finished fifth last season. The Jaguars made it to the semifinals and lost to LSUA, ending their season with a 24-27 overall record and a 14-14 mark in the RRAC. They are currently 2-0.

RRAC Notebook:
- TAMUSA senior Tori Campos went 4-for-5 in the doubleheader win over Oklahoma Panhandle State (8-0/4-3). She added three runs and a stolen base.
- TAMUV junior Angelina Morales provided one of many sparks for TAMUV's offense, going 4-for-6 with six RBIs to help the Jaguars earn a season-opening sweep of Huston-Tillotson (Texas). She had a four-RBI showing in the first game, leading her team to an 18-0 win, and then went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a pair of stolen bases in the second game in the team's 9-0 win.
- LCU graduate infielder Maci Baldwin had three extra base hits and six RBIs in the last two games of the LCU Invitational last weekend, going 4-for-6 at the plate combined in the games against Nelson (Texas) and Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). Results for the week include 4-10 vs. Central Baptist (Ark.), 12-4 vs. Nelson, and 9-1 vs. Embry-Riddle.
- OLLU freshman Boston Tijerina led her team to 9-1 and 8-2 wins over Oklahoma Panhandle State. She went 5-for-8, adding two runs, three doubles, three RBIs, and a stolen base.
- (13) LSUA RHP Lainee Bailey recorded two wins in the circle for the Generals.
- TAMUV sophomore LHP Haley Noska had a stellar debut, allowing just one hit and striking out three over three innings in an 18-0 win over Huston-Tillotson (Texas) in Saturday's season opener.
- LCU RHP senior Addison Greak got two starts and picked up two wins in the circle for the Wildcats during the LCU Invitational over the weekend. Thursday against Nelson, she struck out four as she got the win in a run-ruled shortened victory over the Lions. Saturday against Embry-Riddle, she allowed just two hits and one run over four innings, leading to another run-rule victory over the Eagles.
- (12) OLLU senior RHP Annika Litterio earned the 9-1 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State. She pitched in five innings, allowing six hits and one run, while striking out eight.
