RRAC 2026 Women's Tennis season underway
WACO, Texas (Feb. 6, 2026) – The RRAC women's tennis season has begun with Louisiana Christian, LSU Alexandria, LSU Shreveport, Our Lady of the Lake (Texas), Texas A&M-Texarkana, and Xavier (La.). The teams will compete in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Last season, No. 6-seed OLLU captured the women's title as the Saints defeated No. 5-seed LCU 4-2 at OLLU's home court, Blossom Tennis Center.
Joining OLLU at nationals in Mobile, La., were XULA (2-1) and LSUA (1-1). OLLU was 1-1 in the tournament.
In November, the NAIA announced the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll. Earning their spot in the poll are XULA at No. 9, LSUA at No. 10, and OLLU at No. 17.
Head Coach Alexandra Starkova leads LCU. The Wildcats return All-Conference senior Raquel Coelho Rodrigues, senior Elizaveta Mikhailova, junior Ana Sofia Ferrer Martinez, and sophomore Farren Allysia Sandy, and add three newcomers. The Wildcats marked a 12-10 overall record in 2025.
LSUA Head Coach Melinda Descant returns for her 12th season. She returns All-Conference sophomore Nahia Echaide, junior Lucie Ivanova, junior Joline Roesch, 2025 RRAC Freshman of the Year sophomore Kanu Rajawat, and sophomore Isabella Stuurman. Returners include five freshmen. The Generals recorded a 9-6 record last season.
Akeem Williams coaches LSUS. He returns senior Lidia Gomez, senior Maike Tiemersma, junior Ana Julia De Paula Mandrot, All-Conference sophomore Sara Sofia Sanchez Molano, and the Pilots add three newcomers. The team boasted an 8-5 overall record in 2025.
OLLU welcomes new Head Coach Ross Marzetti after the departure of 2025 RRAC Coach of the Year Dave Watts. Returners include graduate student and RRAC Newcomer of the Year Marie Peters, 2025 All-Conference sophomore Ely Laure Ah-sou, and sophomore Michaela Muller. The Saints add a junior and two freshmen. Last year, the team finished with an 11-13 record.
TAMUT welcomes Head Coach Brian Nelson. He returns sophomore Emmanouela Besi, senior Andrea Castillo, sophomore Ana Gonzalez, and sophomore Adrianne Guangko. The Eagles welcome four freshmen. TAMUT finished last season with a 12-8 record.
XULA returns Head Coach Alan Greene for his 23rd season. The Gold Nuggets return junior Sydney Greene, sophomore Sanai LeSure, sophomore Asadah Ma'at, and 2024 and 2025 All-Conference senior McKenna Wheatley. Six freshmen join the team this year. The Gold Nuggets finished 14-11 in 2025.
The teams began competing in a handful of matches in the fall, with all teams beginning their official spring season in mid-January.
