The RRAC Men’s Basketball Tournament field has narrowed to four following quarterfinals action

WACO, Texas (Feb. 25, 2026) – Quarterfinals play concludes; the stage is now set for the semifinals of the 2026 RRAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The four teams advancing are LSU Shreveport, Texas A&M-Texarkana, LSU Alexandria, and Xavier (La.). They will play on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Laborde Earles Coliseum in Alexandria, La.

The top-seeded Pilots won their quarterfinal game on Tuesday, 108-86, against the eighth-seeded Texas A&M-San Antonio. Fifth-seed TAMUT defeated the fourth-seed Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 83-75 yesterday.

This evening, second-seed LSU Alexandria advanced after an 83-69 win over seventh-seed Jarvis Christian (Texas). Third-seed XULA carries on following the 68-58 victory over North Texas-Dallas.


After a slow start for JCU in the first half with a score of 24-37, the Bulldogs gave the Generals a competitive final period after falling behind by just one point at 45-46. LSUA kept the momentum and overcame the threat, winning 83-69.

The Bulldogs were led by four starters scoring double figures. Mark Wise scored 24 points and added eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Erin Wright tallied 15 points, while Keon Gill scored 13, and Eversyn Smith added 10. The fifth starter, DeShon Shorter led the defense with 12 rebounds.

JCU's stats are as follows: 23-of-58 from the field, 19-of-29 from the free throw line, 35 rebounds, nine assists, and 10 steals. The Bulldogs end their season with an 11-17 overall record.

LSUA tallied 31-of-65 field goals, 9-of-12 three pointers, 12-of-20 free throws, 43 rebounds, 16 assists, eight steals, and eight blocks. EJ McQuillan was his team's leader in scoring with 23. Off the bench, Courtney McCarthy scored 17 points, and PD McCraney added 13 points.

The Generals will play third-seed XULA on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 5:30 p.m. In the regular season, LSUA defeated the Gold Rush, 69-63 and 95-93.


XULA outscored the Trailblazers by eight in the first half, and by two in the final period to win by 10, 68-58. XULA made 23-of-58 from the field and 14-of-20 from the charity stripe, while UNTD had similar marks: 20-of-58 from the field and 14-of-20 from the charity stripe. The Trailblazers dominated in rebounding with 42, compared to XULA's 35.

UNTD had two players score in double figures. Starter Greg Crawford grabbed a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Orion Virden came off the bench to score 10 points.

Three starters for XULA scored in double figures. Nasir DeGruy tallied 14 points, Bentravin Phillips added 13 points, and Seviuhn Turner scored 10.

The Trailblazers end their season with an 11-16 record.
