RRAC Softball Player of the Week is OLLU's Tijernia and TAMUT's Miller is Pitcher of the Week

WACO, Texas (March 16, 2026) – Our Lady of the Lake's (Texas) Boston Tijernia secures the RRAC Player of the Week, while (23) Texas A&M-Texarkana's Charli Miller wins Pitcher of the Week for the dates of March 9-15. This is the seventh set of weekly awards.

RRAC Softball Player of the Week – Boston Tijerina – (9) Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 

Freshman utility player Boston Tijerina led the Saints to a four-game series win against (RV 3) Texas A&M-Victoria last week. The Saints allowed just seven runs, while scoring 19. In the opening game, Tijerina went 3-for-4, adding a home run and two other runs, for the 8-5 win. In the 14-1 victory, she hit 2-for-4, adding two runs and two RBIs. On the field, Tijerina put out 16-of-18 with two assists. 

Tijerina leads her team with 68 at-bats, 28 hits (tie), and 27 RBIs. She has put out 82-of-86. In the RRAC, she is first in RBIs, second with four home runs and 48 total bases, fourth in hits, and sixth with 82 putouts. 

The Saints are 20-3 overall, winning their last five games. They are 9-0 in conference for first place. OLLU is ranked ninth in the most recent NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week – Charli Miller – (23) Texas A&M-Texarkana 

Junior pitcher Charli Miller was a strong closer in two of the Eagles' games last weekend against Texas A&M-San Antonio as the Eagles won all three games in the series (12-2, 3-2, 2-1). In game one, she pitched two innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, one walk, and five strikeouts. Miller pitched one inning in the second game and five in the final game. She secured the victory, allowing three hits and no runs, while striking out six. 

Miller has a 1.50 ERA, with a 1-1 record in 10 appearances. She has pitched a total of 18.2 innings and has struck out 18. 

TAMUT is 18-5 overall and 9-0 in RRAC. The Eagles are second in the conference and one of three undefeated teams (OLLU and LSUA). TAMUT is ranked No. 23 in the most recent NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

RRAC Notebook:

  • LSUA senior outfielder Kaetlyn Dunbar led her team to a series win over XULA. She went 3-for-8 with two home runs, two RBIs, a stolen base, and 2-of-3 putouts.
  • LCU sophomore first baseman Mya Talbert finished the weekend with a 1.500 slugging percentage as LCU swept USW. She put out 6-of-8.
  • TAMUT Grace Cantu provided game-changing at-bats in the final two games of the series against Texas A&M-San Antonio, driving in key runs, including an extra-inning run that would later be deemed the game-winner.
  • XULA sophomore left fielder Miya Covington had a strong series against LSUA, going a combined 4-for-9 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.
  • TAMUV utility player Emily Mayo went 3-for-9, adding a double, two home runs, two RBIs, and 4-for-5 putouts.
  • LSUA senior right-handed pitcher Lainee Bailey led her team to a series win over XULA. She secured the 3-0 game one victory, pitching all seven innings and striking out 10.
  • LCU junior right-handed pitcher Olivia Falcon cruised to a complete game win as the Wildcats run-ruled Southwest (N.M.) 12-2 in the series opener. Allowed just one hit and one earned run, with four walks and a season-high 10 strikeouts.
  • OLLU junior right-handed pitcher Valeria Vielma secured two wins over TAMUV. In the game-two 4-1 victory, she pitched all seven innings, striking out two. She recorded the final, run-ruled 14-1 victory. She pitched five innings.
