OLLU's Alejandro selected as RRAC Player of the Week, LSUA's Bailey as Pitcher of the Week

WACO, Texas (April 13, 2026) – Following stellar performances, No. 7 Our Lady of the Lake's (Texas) Arianna Alejandro and Louisiana Christian's Lainee Bailey are the latest RRAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period April 6-12. This is the 11th set of weekly awards. 

RRAC Softball Player of the Week – Arianna Alejandro – No. 7 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

Senior catcher Arianna Alejandro led the Saints to a 2-1 series win over Texas A&M-Texarkana. She went 5-for 12, adding a run, three doubles, six RBIs, and a sacrifice hit. Alejandro tallied three putouts out of three chances for a perfect week on the field.

Alejandro is first on her team with 44 runs, 11 doubles, four triples, 65 total bases, 18 walks, and 13 stolen bases; second with 97 at-bats, 40 hits, .670 slg., and .525 obp.; and third with a .412 batting average.

The Saints lead the conference in many categories. They are first with 277 runs, 250 RBIs, 343 hits, .355 batting average, .444 obp., .205 ERA; second in 78 doubles, 13 triples, 510 total bases, .528 slg.; and third with 21 home runs. In the NAIA, the Saints are sixth with .444 obp., 11th with 277 runs, and 12th with 6.63 strikeouts per game and .972 fielding percentage.

OLLU is 30-7 overall and 18-3 for first place in the conference. The Saints are ranked No. 7 in the latest NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week – Lainee Bailey – No. 24 LSU Alexandria

Senior right-handed pitcher Lainee Bailey held opponents to an average of .118 and a WHIP of 0.80 in games against TAMUV. She tossed 10 innings and allowed zero earned runs in a 5-1 win, and two other appearances. Bailey allowed four hits and four walks, while striking out seven.

Bailey leads her team with a 14-5 record and a 1.82 ERA. She has eight complete games, including two shutouts, while pitching 104 innings and striking out 90.

In the RRAC, Bailey is first in games started (19), second in wins, innings pitched, and third in strikeouts.

This is Bailey's second consecutive pitcher of the week award.

LCU has tallied 245.2 innings pitched and 152 strikeouts with an ERA of 3.85. The Wildcats are 21-18 overall and 11-10 in the RRAC for sixth place. They are ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

LSUA is first in the RRAC with 947 at-bats, 75 doubles, 18 triples, 26 home runs, 129 stolen bases, 230.0 innings pitched, 690 putouts, 281 assists, 16 double plays, and second with 315 hits, 212 RBIs, 111 walks,

RRAC Notebook:

  • LCU junior outfielder Mariel Medrano had a .615 batting average over a five-game week for the Wildcats as LCU went 5-0. She had multiple hits in three of the five contests. Her speed was an issue as she went 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts. She scored nine times during the week and had three RBIs from the lead-off spot.
  • LSUA senior outfielder Kaetlyn Dunbar went 3-for-9, adding three runs, a double, a home run, four RBIs, and a walk.
  • TAMUT sophomore infielder Victoria Clayton went 8-for-15 in her team's 1-4 week. She tallied 15-of-17 putouts with one assist and two double plays.
  • XULA junior catcher Amireeya Malveaux went 2-for-6 with two doubles over three games. She had 6-of-7 putouts with one assist.
  • TAMUSA sophomore Kristianna Luera went 5-for-9 in her team's 2-1 week against XULA. She added two runs, a triple, three RBIs, and one stolen base.
  • TAMUV senior outfielder Fayth Hoover went 2-for-5 in a 5-4 win and 9-1 loss to LSUA. She added a run, a double, an RBI, and 6-of-6 putouts.
  • LCU junior right-handed pitcher Olivia Falcon picked up a pair of wins during a 5-0 week for the Wildcats as she allowed just one earned run over 10.1 innings of work over three of those games. She struck out 12 over the week, including five in game one of Tuesday's doubleheader against Dillard (La.) and six in the series finale against Texas College, where she got a complete game win.
  • OLLU senior right-handed pitcher Annika Litterio secured two wins against TAMUT, 9-0, 6-2. She pitched 3.2 innings in a no-decision 4-3 loss to the Eagles. In total, she tallied 13.0 innings pitched, allowing three earned runs and four strikeouts.
  • TAMUT senior Rylee Glenn suffered two losses, to Henderson State, 3-2, and to OLLU, 6-2. She totaled 17.1 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts.
  • XULA freshman Morgan Malveaux picked up her eighth win of the season and fifth win in a row as a starting pitcher with a complete-game three-strikeout win against TAMUSA, her only outing of the week.
  • TAMUSA sophomore Krisilyn Corral helped the Jaguars go 2-1 this past weekend to secure the series win against XULA. She pitched 14 innings and struck out nine.
  • TAMUV freshman right-handed pitcher Madelyn Butler secured her fourth win of the season with a 5-4 victory over LSUA.
