SPORT GOVERNANCE OPERATING PROCEDURES
SPORT CHAIR
I. Responsibilities
- Confirm postseason qualification plan is completed and signed by Commissioner or RRAC Communication Director and submitted to the NAIA by set deadlines.
- Send an email to coaches within the sport each August outlining deadlines for stat reporting, score reporting, ratings and tie-breaker procedures.
- Work with RRAC coaches and sports information directors who are not submitting results or statistics correctly or in a timely manner while coordinating with RRAC Communication Director.
- Work with RRAC Athletic Director liaisons on all details of RRAC championship event and RRAC all-conference selection process.
II. Selection
- Designation of chair is determined by a majority vote of the coaches in the sport.
SPORT RATER
I. Responsibilities
- Represent and promote RRAC on NAIA national ratings committee.
- Consult with fellow RRAC coaches to adequately rate RRAC teams.
- Include Oversight Committee in communication to coaches in bi-weely ratings.
- Listen to and consider Oversight Committee suggestions for ratings.
- Provide written rationale of ranking (i.e., email) to each RRAC team.
- In event of a tie with rater's team, Oversight Committee will collaborate with rater to complete process.
- Coaches have the option to provide a weekly synopsis of their teams to provide updates to raters.
II. Selection
- Designation of rater is determined by majority vote of coaches in the sport.
OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
I. Responsibilities
- Oversight Committee will follow the procedures as listed in NAIA instructions for ratings. We will use the NAIA guidelines for decisions.
